Masthead Slideshow and Data
Tribune Showprint is the oldest continuously running prints hop in the nation. As such, they have a vast collection of cuts, commissioned by customers over the past 140 years. Their largest collection is of mastheads used to make posters for theaters, advertising movies, plays, and various other types of productions. There are 577 of these cuts.
For some of these theatres, the masthead in Tribune's collection may be the only evidence that the theatre ever existed. I helped catalog and research the histories of these mastheads, shown in a slideshow and the Excel sheet below.
